{"id":78,"count":40,"description":"Herv\u00e9 Wahlen is a copper-ware sculptor who has been practicing his specialty since the 1980s. He has revived the traditional forms and techniques of coppersmithing, working in particular with the historical tools of the famous Gabriel Ren\u00e9 Lacroix.\r\n\r\nHerv\u00e9 Wahlen\u2019s sculptures are a display of supple, pure, almost organic lines. They are enhanced by light, made possible by the development of a very subtle patina. The light emanating from Herv\u00e9 Wahlen\u2019s work is obtained through the discontinuity of the surface of his creations and the use of gold leaf. They are also polished with wax to achieve a sensual finish.\r\n\r\nHerv\u00e9 Wahlen collaborated with Peruvian artist Fabian Sanchez to create a monumental work for the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul. He has exhibited extensively in France, Switzerland, the United States and the United Kingdom and was awarded the Fondation de la Vocation de Paris prize in 1984.\r\n\r\nHis sculptures are part of many prestigious collections- both private, such as the collections of Bill Gates, Paloma Picasso and Peter Marino, and public, such as the DRAC Ile-de-France. In 1997, one of his works entered the collection of the Fonds national d\u2019art contemporain (FRAC) in France.\r\n\r\nIn 2021, his Torsion lamp entered the collection of the Mobilier National.","link":"https:\/\/maisonparisienne.fr\/en\/artiste\/herve-wahlen\/","name":"Herv\u00e9 Wahlen","slug":"herve-wahlen","taxonomy":"artiste","parent":0,"meta":[],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/maisonparisienne.fr\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/artiste\/78","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/maisonparisienne.fr\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/artiste"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/maisonparisienne.fr\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/taxonomies\/artiste"}],"wp:post_type":[{"href":"https:\/\/maisonparisienne.fr\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/oeuvre?artiste=78"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
