Cabinetmaker and Designer

Represented since 2011 by maison parisienne.

A young designer of outstanding talent, Pierre Renart is revolutionizing the codes of cabinetmaking, combining traditional savoir-faire with new technologies and developing a unique approach to working in wood. Through curves and counter-curves, he achieves forms that are timeless and creates furniture with clean, flowing lines in a repertoire that is both subtle and sensual. Tirelessly exploring new transformation techniques, Pierre Renart works from veneered sheets of wood from French forests, glued individually with resin according to the glued-laminate technique. The first step in preparing the wood creates the illusion of a single endless strip. This is then shaped into the form of the piece of furniture before being finished off.

Pierre Renart’s furniture has a powerful presence, at once sculptural and functional. In 2016, Pierre Renart designed the furniture for the Café du Studio Harcourt in Paris. In 2020, he created seven monumental pieces for the lobby of 22 Bishopsgate Building in London. Since 2021, he has been working with Longchamp to design bespoke furniture for their boutique and shop windows, in France and abroad. Pierre Renart unveils its new Leather Ribbon collection

For the Milan Design Week 2025, Pierre Renart presents his new Leather Ribbon collection, a collaboration that continues the longstanding relationship between the designer and the Maison Longchamp, which began in 2021 with a shared commitment to excellence in design and craftsmanship.

This collection embodies the perfect fusion of Pierre Renart’s wood expertise and the iconic leather elegance of Longchamp. Crafted in American walnut and supple Longchamp cowhide leather, these pieces offer clean lines and fluid forms that have become the artist’s signature. Two exclusive pieces are featured : The Ribbon chair, available in eight colors, including Longchamp’s signature greens, and the Wave Benchseat, which showcases a sculptural design of great elegance.

The creations are showcased until May 13, 2025, at the Longchamp store on Via della Spiga in Milan, and the eight chairs are available for purchase. An immersive scenography highlights the harmony between wood and leather, while celebrating the perfect union of innovation and exceptional craftsmanship.

Through this collaboration, Pierre Renart, maison parisienne, and Longchamp reaffirm their desire to push the boundaries of design, while offering a contemporary and timeless vision of luxury and craftsmanship.
