maison parisienne is once more back to Brussels. On the occasion of Art Brussels, maison parisenne settled in one of most surprising townhouses of the Belgian capital, located in the heart of the city, a stone’s throw from Avenue Louise. Hôtel Wielemans is an architectural curiosity designed by architect Adrien Blomme in 1925, on request of the Spain-enthusiast owner. Mismatching styles and confusion of genres…the architect integrated a true hispano-moresque feel to the academic art codes that were all the rage at the time. Once the visitor’s walked past the somewhat austere porch, they discover a light-filled patio with an unexpected azulejos décor and a small garden strewn with dainty fountains. maison parisienne brought over forty contemporary creations by French master craftsmen, giving life to an unexpected “Crossover” between past and present, Belgium and France, architecture and design.
