A key event for design lovers, PAD London returns to Berkeley Square from October 8 to 13. For the occasion, maison parisienne will be showcasing new works by its artistes de la matière (material artists) on its stand. For the artists’ debut at PAD London, Juliette Clovis unveils exceptional porcelain diptychs titled Dark Fall, displayed alongside the artwork Aankh, created for the gallery’s 15th anniversary exhibition. Echoing these murals, Julien Vermeulen’s Black Shudder is showcased, a feather marquetry masterpiece that creates a hypnotic effect through its interplay of shadow and light. Reimagining the traditional tapestry, Aurélie Mathigot’s latest creation, Hommage à Calais, transforms abstract photographs through intricate embroidery and frames them with the plush texture of crocheted wool. In a palette of neutral tones, woodwork is celebrated through pieces by Jérôme Blanc, notably his Tribu series. This theme continues with another standout piece: the Möbius Alliance bench. A collaboration between wood sculptor Pierre Renart and marble artisan David Léger, the one-of-a-kind sculpture features American walnut with organic curves that cradle the Grand Antique marble like a precious jewel. Finally, textile artist Simone Pheulpin presents a new large-scale mural titled Tornado (66 cm x 66 cm), while Gérald Vatrin’s new glass sculptures add an additional dimension to the gallery’s display.

As part of the Design at Large program at Design Miami Paris, Pierre Renart will take possession of the Hôtel de Maisons’ garden with his spectacularly installation, “Escale”.

With this 4-meter-long by 1-meter-high hammock, Pierre Renart has chosen to work with a new material, hornbeam, a wood that gives the work a certain flexibility and lightness reminiscent of the appearance and natural color of the ropes used to form the seat of hammocks. In creating this work, Pierre Renart was keen to reconnect with his training in chair carpentry from the École Boulle and deliver an innovative and modern interpretation, exhibited by maison parisienne at this 2024 edition of Design Miami Paris.
