Pierre Lapeyronnie

Metal sculptor and designer

Born in 1982, Pierre Lapeyronnie grew up between Paris and the Dordogne. His work stems from a fascination with wave phenomena and the invisible forces that shape our perception of space. Rather than approaching design as a problem-solving discipline, he explores ways of making perceptible what normally escapes the eye.

Sound occupies a central place in his practice. Treated as a material in its own right, it informs the conception of objects, lighting pieces, and installations that engage with their acoustic environment as much as their visual presence. Music, with its structures of tension, rhythm, resonance, and silence, also deeply influences his creative process.

Working by hand in his Montreuil studio, Pierre develops unique pieces and limited editions through a continuous dialogue between concept and material. His work seeks a balance between what is heard and what is touched, creating forms that seem to embody suspended vibrations and latent energy.

In 2022, three pieces from his “Huchet” series entered the collections of the Mobilier National.
