Design Miami Paris

As part of the Design at Large program at the Design Miami Paris fair, Pierre Renart took possession of the Hôtel de Maisons garden with his spectacularly large installation ; Escale. With this 4-meter-long by 1-meter-high hammock, Pierre Renart chose to work with a new material, hornbeam, a wood that lends the work a certain suppleness reminiscent of the appearance and natural color of the ropes used to form the seat of hammocks. As seat joinery formed the basis of Pierre Renart’s training at the École Boulle, this project embodied both a return to his roots and an innovation, exhibited by maison parisienne at this 2024 edition of Design Miami Paris.
