Paris Design Week : Pierre Renart at l’Hôtel de la Marine
Hôtel de la Marine – Cour de l’Intendant
September 2024
For Paris Design Week, maison parisienne is spotlighting Pierre Renart, a designer and cabinetmaker who combines traditional woodworking skills with innovative technologies.
For this event, Pierre Renart took over the Cour de l’Intendant de l’Hôtel de la Marine, with an original piece: Escale, a hammock composed of 7 hornbeam slats evoking the artist’s Fusion collection and inspired by Hugh Dutton’s glass roof.
With its spectacular dimensions, 4 metres long by 1m high and 70 cm wide, this creation revisits Pierre Renart’s training in seat carpentry at the École Boulle, and confronts the grandeur of the Hôtel de la Marine, former Garde-Meuble of the Crown in the 18th century. The exhibition runs until September 22, to celebrate the European Heritage Days.
