Sophora japonica, plane tree, urushi, rice glue, Bouzentès lava, hammered brass
A lighting sculpture inspired by the refined poetry of Japanese aesthetics and the organic geometry of branching forms. Crafted from Sophora japonica and plane tree wood, the piece is enriched with urushi lacquer, rice glue, Bouzentès lava, and hammered brass, creating a subtle dialogue between mineral, vegetal, and luminous textures. Reminiscent of the delicate interplay of light and shadow found in traditional Japanese interiors, the sculpture diffuses a soft, atmospheric glow that casts intricate shadows across surrounding surfaces. Through its finely balanced structure and tactile materials, the work evokes the quiet contemplation of nature while celebrating the harmony, restraint, and timeless elegance central to Japanese craftsmanship.
