From the 2nd to the 19th of August 2022, the Megève municipality will host “Rêveries” (« Dreams »), a solo exhibition by Aurélie Mathigot in collaboration with maison parisienne gallery. In a place conducive to meditation, the Chapelle Sainte Anne (Saint Anne chapel), the viewer is carried, through a dozen large format canvases, by the lush beauty of nature and by her wondrous thoughts. Aurélie Mathigot, whose work consists in embroidering photographies, revisits the enchanting spectacle of nature, inspired as much by Monet’s garden in Giverny as by the still lives of Fantin-Latour. Between curved lines, reflections of the sky and plants in the water, abundance of textures, intensity of colors and asymmetry of compositions, the eye is invited, from an art piece to another, to wander, to adrift, to dream.
